Midnight in Suwon - Day 55

Lights... dazzling up in the room..

Hair drying noise ringing in my ears...

I could feel that school has resumed. My sister woke up earlier than I did to prepare herself for school. Even mom woke up early as she prepared to go to temple today. I woke up by those noises and sat up from the mattress. Waiting for them to leave... to have my peace time at home...

They all left when it was 8:30 and I had my time before I had to leave for football training at 9:10. I read the articles, had plain cornflakes without milk for breakfast. I packed my bag then I pondered.. Should I go gym first then go to football later? I didn't gym for real long time and I was going to miss gym today again due to NS medical check-up at 1pm today. After thinking so thoroughly for about ten minutes, I decided to just go to the football center.

Rushing... I reached like 10 minutes before the lesson began. I was alone and even the coach wasn't around. Coach came in a while later and I warmed up myself and waited for others to come too. Waiting...and waiting.. 20 minutes passed but nobody came. The coach came out of his office as he thought he had enough time to wait for the others. He noticed me that today's one will be tiring as I was doing it alone. I would have less time for recovery in doing the stages. I showed those faces in despair but actually thought in myself that it was a good chance to get a one-on-one lesson.. I always like to hide my maturity like this..

Had a several stages and the last stage where I had to get the pass and make the first touch using my right foot and shoot it with my right foot too, to hit the cones on the left corner. I was given 8 chances and I missed them all. The coach told me to take my individual training time that I always contributed to do this practice before I go home. I told him I had medical check-up so I need to rush but he just told me to do a few before leaving. Not being a person who can reject, I decided to do at least until I can hit the target before leaving. After doing like 4~5 times, I managed to do it and the feeling of accomplishment was higher.

Quickly headed to the gym after having my lunch. I had to bathe in the gym and rush to the Military Manpower Administration.

I reached the MMA like 2 minutes before the start of the check-up. Unlike how I'd thought, there were 100 people sitting and listening to the person leading the test. I was 92nd to reach, so I can be considered as pretty late. Quickly took a seat and listened to what the lady with the mic was saying. There was a computer desk for each seats given. It was like taking some TOEFL exam test. The instructor kept talking while we were doing the test we were given. It required us to write all the family background info.... Everything...Whether parents are alive..whether am I from North Korea..foreigner...what middle school and high school I was from... and everything...

Next was those IQ test. There were maths, Korean, figures and I managed to finish all of 'em on time. After it was the personality test... then was the medical test that only required me to write yes or no. They made us a Bank Card from Sinhan Bank and told us that all the money we get from the country for serving the army will be put in here. And for coming to the medical check-up today, they gave me an allowance of 12,000 won. Took an X-ray of our chests, and we were told to change into the uniform for the tests. As the uniform was just a short and a T-shirt, I could see all the true body size of the others. Thin and skinny. I do not know why I was like that but I felt bossy to have such thick muscular legs. Like being more manly.. They took my pee and my blood too. I almost cried when they injected to take out my blood. I always do not like injections. Then, we waited for an hour watching the reality of the NS men in Korea on the huge projector screen. We were called up row by row and went up to the third floor. Took our blood pressure, height and weight, and eyesight. Then, I was told to report to otolaryngology at the left side as I had written in my medical yes or no that I do have problem with my ear. My ear has been like as if I am in the airplane up in the sky for like few years already. I need to yawn to make my ear back to normal always. The doctor however told me that it was really normal and would not affect anything in my NS life. He gave me the smirk and I was bit embarrassed. Then, was the last part where the person would ask about my educational background and tell the person about any possession of the license. Studying in overseas and even quitting halfway at the high school in overseas was pretty abnormal to them. The person told me to come back after going through the other stages. I completed all the stages where I got my final report of what rank my body is. And surprisingly, I got Rank 1 !! I haven't heard any people who got rank 1 at least for people who are around me. Mostly is because of their eye sights. I was really kinda happy and proud and boasted to others. I came back to the lady who asked me to get back and she gave me a paper that required me to write what school I was from in Singapore. What year I attended.. and the reason for dropping out. They had to check with the school. Finished all the NS medical check-up and it was already 5pm. The test all in all took like four hours. Whatever it was, I was so pleased that I got Level 1 for my body. I'm such healthy guy.

Reached home and it was another awkward time. Had the dinner and I tried to control my talking as it would only cause troubles..

When mom asked me to go out and buy a bread, I wore my socks on, carried a ball and went out to the primary school beside my house. It has been such long time since I trained here. Be it Summer or Winter, I always trained here wearing shorts. A dream to be B div player.. A dream to be an A div player.. A dream to be a better player and now I'm up in here again... in a dream to be a better footballer...

It was dark and eerie like before. There were no lights and was so cold. The only sound in here was the wind and my feet's movements. Trained dribbling, lifting and shooting...imagining how it would be like on game situation. After 30 mins, I left to get the bread and reached home.

As soon as I got home, I messaged Eun Sun. Tomorrow is the day to meet her at work. However, I was noticed from her that she is not coming to work tomorrow. I do not know why but hmm I felt kinda relieved.. Maybe relieved that I do not need to look nice tomorrow.. but youngsub. She is a friend.. why do you need to look nice?..

I'm confused... but she indeed is a good friend... Thursday is her last day of work and I'm not working on Thursday. I might not see her anymore at work but hope faith would bring us back... Amen..

Goodnight...
